Description

SHAKE WAVE HEMP ORIGINAL (UNFLAVOURED) plus 15 superfoods

The Hemp protein powder offers a fully-rounded, natural protein source from hemp, with 46.6g per 100g serving. Additionally, Shake Wave Hemp Original includes a variety of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients derived from 15 other superfoods and herbs. This combination surpasses the benefits of protein powders made from a single ingredient.

Hemp seed:

This special blend of hemp contains all the essential amino acids and fatty acids (such as Omega 3) required for maintaining good health and boosting the immune system. Hemp seeds also offer antioxidant properties and a broad range of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, niacin, riboflavin, thiamine, vitamin B6, and folate.

These characteristics make hemp a superfood that provides a complete, natural, and balanced protein source. When the body lacks essential fatty acids and their metabolites, protein synthesis decreases, muscle repair slows down, and the body may retain fat due to nutrient deficiency. Hemp is the only plant source that provides complete protein nutrition in an easily digestible form and has the perfect ratio of oils essential for human health and vitality.

Hemp protein is very similar to the protein in human blood plasma, making it easy to digest compared to other protein sources that can cause bloating and discomfort. The dietary fiber in hemp is also beneficial for maintaining a healthy colon and stabilizing blood sugar levels.

Alfalfa:

Alfalfa is a nutrient-dense plant that contains chlorophyll, various vitamins (including pro-vitamin A, B6, C, D, E, K, and P), and minerals (such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and zinc). It provides all eight essential amino acids that are necessary for protein synthesis, and it is ten times more mineral-rich than an average grain. Additionally, it contains eight essential enzymes:

  • amylase digests starch
  • coagulase coagulates milk
  • invertase converts sugar to dextrose
  • emulsin acts on sugars
  • peroxidase oxidizes blood
  • lipase breaks down fats
  • pectinase forms a vegetable jelly from pectin
  • protease digests proteins

Alfalfa also contains beneficial compounds called “actives,” such as isoflavones, sterols, and other plant phytoestrogens. When combined with the plant’s natural fiber, these actives promote healthy cholesterol levels and overall health.

Red beetroot:

Beetroot is a great source of carbohydrates and proteins, as well as being packed with a range of essential vitamins (including vitamins A, B, and C), minerals (like magnesium, manganese, sodium, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus), antioxidants (such as betanin, which gives beetroot its color), and other nutrients like soluble fiber, iron, folic acid, and betaine. Despite being low in calories and fat, beetroot has a low glycemic load.

Athletes love beetroot because it’s a highly concentrated source of dietary nitrate, which helps reduce oxygen uptake during exercise and improve stamina. Studies have shown that beetroot can enhance exercise performance and muscle growth. For example, in a well-known study by Exeter University, cyclists who drank a half-liter of beetroot juice a few hours before cycling were able to cycle up to 16% longer than those who drank a placebo blackcurrant juice. Therefore, beetroot is becoming more popular with athletes during times of intense training when energy demands are high and recovery is crucial.

Cinnamon bark:

Cinnamon is a versatile spice that possesses a number of health benefits, including anti-spasmodic, anti-microbial, carminative, anti-diarrhea, anti-worm, and antiseptic properties. It is particularly useful in treating digestive problems such as flatulence, diarrhea, weak digestion, vomiting, and hyper-acidity. Additionally, it is effective against harmful microorganisms such as E.coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans. Cinnamon can also help to regulate blood sugar levels, making it a useful natural remedy for diabetics.

Similarly, dandelion root has been widely used for centuries in traditional herbal medicine for its numerous health benefits. It is a gentle laxative, aids digestion, and is beneficial for liver and kidney problems. It can also help to reduce inflammation, fever, and diarrhea, and has been known to stimulate the appetite. Dandelion root is a nutritional powerhouse and is still respected in Europe for its medicinal properties.

Green tea:

Green tea contains catechin polyphenols, with epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) being a potent antioxidant. Several studies have demonstrated that the antioxidant activity of green tea polyphenols is more effective than that of vitamin C and E, both of which are potent natural antioxidants. Additionally, green tea is effective at reducing LDL cholesterol and blood pressure, and inhibiting the formation of abnormal blood clots. Green tea is also recognized as a useful tool for weight loss, as the polyphenols can induce thermogenesis and stimulate fat oxidation, raising the metabolic rate without increasing the heart rate.

Spirulina:

Spirulina is a highly nutritious blue-green algae. It is used for:

  • boosting the immune system
  • improving digestion
  • reducing fatigue and building endurance
  • cleansing and detox purposes
  • boosting energy levels
  • controlling appetite
  • maintaining healthy heart function
  • supporting the liver and kidneys
  • reducing inflammation
  • alleviating allergy symptoms

It is a complete food that supplies an incredibly wide range of nutrients, including protein, vitamins, minerals, Omega 6 fatty acids, chlorophyll and other phyto-nutrients.

Acerola cherry:

The exceptional nutritional values and high bioavailability of vitamin C found in these cherries have earned them the status of a super-fruit. They contain around 30 x the amount of vitamin C found in oranges of the same weight. Acerola cherries also provide a good source of vitamins and antioxidants, with nearly 150 nutritive constituents identified by researchers, including bioflavonoids, proteins, mineral salts, iron, calcium, and phosphorus.

Chlorella:

Chlorella is a potent substance that can help in detoxification by binding with harmful substances such as heavy metals and pesticides, which can build up in our bodies. It is also rich in fiber, which promotes good digestion and overall gastrointestinal health. A healthy bloodstream with an ample amount of red blood cells is essential for a strong immune system. Chlorella’s nutrient density, ability to cleanse the colon and other elimination organs, and protection of the liver help to keep the blood free from toxins and the immune system robust. The abundance of chlorophyll in chlorella is the reason behind its name.

Blackcurrants:

These berries are packed with phyto-nutrients that offer several health benefits. During World War II, they were used as a substitute for oranges and other vitamin C-rich fruits that were difficult to obtain in the United Kingdom. The blackcurrant fruit is an excellent source of vitamin C, containing over three times the amount found in navel oranges, along with calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and vitamin E. It’s a great energy booster, and the seeds are rich in unsaturated fatty acids. Moreover, blackcurrants are loaded with anthocyanins, which are a type of polyphenol and an antioxidant.

Parsley leaf:

Parsley is a nutrient-rich vegetable from the same family as carrots, celery and fennel. It provides many health benefits and a variety of nutrients such as vitamins A, C, E, iron, folic acid, and antioxidants such as bioflavonoids, volatile oils, coumarins, flavonoids and chlorophyll. Parsley is particularly rich in vitamin C, with three times more than oranges and as much as blackcurrants. It also contains twice as much iron as spinach and is a good source of calcium, potassium and manganese. Parsley can be used in its raw form or as a juice to cleanse the blood, improve vein health, dissolve blood clots, aid in digestion, and as a natural breath freshener and diuretic.

Baobab fruit:

Baobab is the exceptional superfruit of Africa’s ‘Tree of Life’. It is the only fruit in the world that dries naturally on the branch. It is also famed for its incredible nutritional properties. Much like the moringa, it is a superfood that deserves the name!

An excellent source of many vitamins and minerals, it has:

  • five times the magnesium of avocados
  • four times the potassium of bananas
  • twice the calcium of milk
  • twice the antioxidants of acai berries, and more than any other fruit
  • ten times the vitamin C of oranges
  • ten times the fibre of apples

To put it differently, baobab is a highly nutritious plant and its different parts contain varying amounts of protein, vitamin C, antioxidants, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, calcium and B vitamins. Its high content of dietary fiber has been proven to promote digestive health and reduce hunger, leading to weight loss. Moreover, baobab can slow the rise of blood sugar levels and reduce the need for insulin to control blood sugar. Research has also indicated that baobab has anti-inflammatory properties and can protect cells from oxidative damage.

Spinach:

Spinach is widely regarded as a superfood due to its high nutritional content, including iron, calcium, folic acid, vitamin K, vitamin C, fibre, carotenoids, lutein, and bioflavonoids. This combination of nutrients makes spinach an excellent source for supporting bone health, fighting diseases, and boosting the immune system. For example, calcium strengthens bones, while vitamins A and C, fiber, folic acid, magnesium, and other nutrients help combat diseases and boost the immune system. Folate, a type of B vitamin found in spinach, reduces the levels of homocysteine in the blood, which is a protein that can damage arteries and contribute to heart disease.

Acai berry:

These berries, which are exclusively found in the Amazon rainforests of Central and South America, are rich in a diverse range of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and antioxidants.

Acai berries are beneficial for:

  • the immune system: their dark purple pigment contains plant chemicals called anthocyanins powerful antioxidants that are part of the flavonoid family of molecules and are important for neutralising harmful free radicals)
  • supporting the heart: acai berries are a rich source of protein and dietary fibre, which are believed to have a protective effect on the cardiovascular system
  • lowering cholesterol levels: acai berries are a rich source of Omega 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids, as well as phytosterols, which play an important role in lowering levels of cholesterol in the blood
  • weight loss: these berries can supply valuable nutrients to support energy levels, the immune system and nutrient intake during periods of reduced calories and increased physical activity.

The also have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-mutagenic properties.

Fenugreek:

Fenugreek has numerous benefits due to its high antioxidant content and is known for its laxative and anti-parasitic properties. It has the ability to ease inflamed tissues, reduce fever, regulate blood sugar levels, enhance digestion, and promote healing. Fenugreek is also an immune system booster and can help remove toxins from the body via the lymph nodes. Its seeds are rich in protein, lipids, protease inhibitors, alkaloids, mucilaginous fiber, calcium, iron, niacin, vitamin C, selenium, and other nutrients. Furthermore, the seeds are believed to aid in natural weight loss by reducing fatty tissue.
